Thomas J. Montgomery, MD

Dr. Montgomery is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with experience in adult reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Southern Medical Society, Southern Ortho-
paedic Association and many other professional
organizations.

Dr. Montgomery serves on several community and professional
organization boards: Lafayette General Hospital Membership
Corporation, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Blue Cross/Blue
Shield Physician’s Advisory Board and Park Place Surgical Hospital
Board. He is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette/Greater Lafayette
Chamber of Commerce and past Chairman of the Lafayette General
Hospital Emergency Department.

He is a recipient of the Charles S. Neer II Award from the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and received the Outstanding Resident Presentation at the Richards Orthopaedic Resident Conference as well as other Outstanding Awards as resident. He is a recipient of the Chancellor’s Award from the L.S.U. School of Medicine.

Dr. Montgomery received his M.D. from Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1988 where he ranked in the top five percent of his class. He did his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1988-1993 in orthopaedic surgery. In 1991, he was awarded a limited A.O. European Trauma Fellowship in Graz, Austria and Interlochen, Switzerland. He was also awarded a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Sports Medicine Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Mooresville, Indiana.

Dr. Montgomery practices in Lafayette, Louisiana. He and wife, Deidre, have four children.
